Peugeot 2008 review - Peugeot 2008 Review (2022)

Verdict If you are the sort of buyer who will pay over the odds for a car that looks great, then.

Concerned about Peugeot reliability? There are plenty of models in this segment that manage this trick, and the Peugeot 2008 does it with a bit more flair than some.

Thanks to its interesting i-Cockpit design, with low-slung steering wheel and high-mounted instrument panel and a selection of interesting and high-quality trims interior trims, the 2008 manages to stand out for passengers as well as drivers.

Peugeot is known for its prowess in this segment, having a long, rich legacy with rural Australian buyers purely because of the way they ride.

However, its wagon-esque styling, complete with hunchback roof line, meant it never struck a chord with Aussie SUV intenders.

The steering wheel is a charming size and shape, the seats are comfortable and easy to adjust - but there are still some ergonomic annoyances.

Description: Both, though, have the advantage of not being fidgety at take-off pace, as both are standard torque-converter auto gearboxes, not dual-clutch transmissions like so many of its jerkier competitors.

Just like the e-208, the e-2008 is powered by a 50kWh battery with 100kW charging capability, which means a range of between 191 and 206 miles depending on specification - the bigger tyres on the posher models create more drag and hurt the range and a zero-to-80% charge taking 30 minutes.
Both models have engine start-stop tech for fuel saving - more on fuel use in the next part.
So you'll have to really want the extra space and ride height on offer here.

However, despite its soft set-up, the 2008 is pretty good to drive with its nicely weighted steering and responsive chassis providing genuine involvement on a twisty A road. Peugeot's small SUV isn't the cheapest option, with prices in 2022 starting close to £23,000. If you choose a GT model, with a few options, you'll easily exceed £30,000.
