This book felt very much like a jigsaw puzzle.
Despite this it was addictive to piece together the clues alongside Ellen and whilst moments can feel a tad implausible or far-fetched, ultimately this is an enjoyable exciting read which cleverly uses suspense and unreliable characters to conclude in an enigmatic thriller.
This would not have been an issue had the first half not been so realistic.

I had worked out the bad guy from pretty early on, largely because of how heavy-handedly the author tries to point readers in a different direction, and when the reveal finally comes the novel finishes abruptly and the perpetrator never really felt credible to me.
Onwards and upwards, though still a very well written novel.
Right from the astonishing start this book is gripping to the very end.
