How to Care for a Pet Winter White Dwarf Hamster

The Russian dwarf hamster is an exceptionally docile and sociable rodent, perhaps one of the reasons why many parents choose it as a pet for their children.

Regardless of what country their native habitat falls, the climate in these areas is harsh come wintertime.

It is not something they tend to do as much in captivity, but the Russian dwarf can.

While it can be okay, it does risk your hamster being picky only eating its favorite seeds.

These burrows will typically have up to six entrances and to keep warm in the Winter, all but one of these entrances will be stuffed with wool, animal fur or other similar material it can find.

In captivity, this does not usually happen as animals maintained as pets are generally housed indoors and exposed to artificial light that prevents the recognition of short winter daylengths.
